GREENSBORO, N.C. - Nancy Mountcastle shot five over-par in the second round of the Bryan National Collegiate to lead the NC State women's golf team on Saturday. The Wolfpack is in eighth place in the 17-team field at the par 72 Bryan Park Golf Course.
Mountcastle is nine-over for the tournament, tied for 32nd place and trails teammate Lorraine Ballerano by four strokes. Ballerano shot eight over in the second round and is tied for 17th. Molly Birmingham and Lauren Harling both carded seven-over scores in the second round and Ashlee Dean ranks in the top 50 with a round to go.
Duke leads the field at one-over-par and Violeta Retamoza from Tennessee is in first place individually at three-under. The tournament concludes Sunday with a final round of 18 holes. Complete results, including live scoring, are available at www.golfstat.com.
