Raleigh, N.C. - Freshman Kelsey Lee (Owings Mills, Md.) of the North Carolina State gymnastics team has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Rookie of the Week for her performance this past weekend at No. 8 Georgia. With Lee's performance on the bars and floor, the Pack was able to record a high road score and move up to No. 23 in the national rankings.
Lee scored a 9.725 on bars for a fifth place finish, and her 9.775 on floor also placed her fifth. She was the Pack's top finisher on bars, and tied for the team lead on floor. Lee is the third Wolfpack freshman to be named EAGL Rookie of the Week this year. Earlier this year, Heather Zolton won the award in back-to-back weeks, and classmate Leigha Hancock won the award just last week.
NC State compete at California this weekend in the Pack's last road meet of the season. NC State will then be back home to host West Virginia on March 18 and then host the EAGL Championships March 25.
