Lewton Ties For Sixth At Bulls Bay

AWENDAW, S.C. - Stephen Lewton shot one stroke under par in the final round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Tuesday to finish three-over and tied for sixth place. Lewton led the NC State men's golf team to a ninth place finish in the field of 15 at the par 71 Bulls Bay Golf Club.
Following up an even par first round with a four-over second round, Lewton fired a one-under in the third round. His 54-hole total score of 216 is the team's lowest score of the season and his sixth place finish is the team's best of the season as well.
Taylor Crosby shot one-over in the opening round and went three-over in the last two rounds to finish seven-over and tied for 20th place. Jerry Richardson was three-over in the first round and carded a third round 75 after going five-over in the second round. Garry Hill and Banks Wood both stumbled in the later rounds after firing three and four-over respectively in the opening round.
Kentucky and Augusta State tied for first place at 14-over and the Wildcats won the playoff. The Jaguars' Scott Jamieson carded an eight-under score to win medalist honors.
