Hill Qualifies In Triple Jump At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. - Michael Hill placed third in the triple jump Saturday at the Raleigh Relays with a career-best NCAA Regional Championship qualifying mark of 49-9 1/4. The Wolfpack wrapped up its second successful day of competition at its annual home meet on Paul Derr Track.
Phillip Stafford ran the 1,500m in 4:01.94 and Mitchell Pope reached 160-6 in the hammer throw. Antwan Graves, Omar Wells, Arman Quenum and LT Dickens won their section of the 4x400m relay.
On the women's side, Angelina Blackmon won the 800m, just missing the regional qualifying time at 2:10.38. Julia Lucas and Magin Kebert led six Wolfpack runners in the 1,500m. Lucas posted a 4:31.11 to take sixth place, Kebert ran a 4:34.40 for 7th place and Jennifer Boyd, Jessie Yester, Georgia Davis and Kelly Brown competed as well.
Joanna Rodgers was the runner-up in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:57.47 and Leslie Jimison placed sixth. Joya Rodgers finished 10th in the 100m dash.
Meanwhile in Stanford, Calif., Josianna Lauber, Ginger Wheeler and Erin Swain competed in the 10,000m at the Stanford Invitational Friday night. All three posted career-best times, while Lauber (34:47.41) and Wheeler (34:56.63) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships.
