Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2004 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Gymnastics' Brooke Outland and Swimming's Rick Scott.
Brooke Outland is a sophomore on the NC State Women's Gymnastics team. The native of Bear Creek, North Carolina has posted her most impressive numbers in the classroom. She's compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in her Political Sciene major. Brooke's also been named to the NC State Dean's List every semester she's been on campus, and was also selected for the ACC Honor Roll during the 2003-2004 year.
Rick Scott specializes in the breast stroke for the NC State Men's Swimming team. The Junior for Durham, North Carolina is no fish out of water when it comes to the classroom. He's compiled a 3.38 Total Grade Point Average in his Political Science major. Rick's also been named to the NC State Dean's List three times while on campus, and has been selected to the ACC Honor Roll during the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 years.
Congratulations to both Brooke and Rick and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
