So, how did you spend your spring break? It's a question college students have been asking each other for decades. Answers range from the obligatory trip to Florida for sun and fun, studying, as if anyone believes that, plus who knows what else.
Should any NC State students ask Roger Pareja of Greensboro what he did over spring break, they're in for a quite a tale. Afterall, Roger was the winner of Subway's " Follow the Pack Contest." As the contest winner he gets to see the Pack play every post-season basketball game during March Madness. His first stop was four exciting days at the ACC Basketball Tournament in Washington, DC.
" I was surprised. I thought somebody was messing with me and that this was a practical joke," said Roger when he found out he was the lucky winner. But this was no joke. Playing the role of good son, he took his father with him to DC and saw the Pack win the two games they needed to win to get into the NCAA Tournament.
" I really enjoyed it. On a scale of one to ten, I'd give it a 9. They played really well."
Yes they did. So now the Pack is on to Worcester, Mass. for a Sunday matchup with Charlotte. And Roger and a friend will be there to cheer them on.
" They can win at least one or two games. I'm looking at a couple of games."
And should the Pack make it through to the next round, Roger will be there too. Who knows, perhaps our winner of Subway's "Follow the Pack Contest" will end up in St. Louis come April? Now wouldn't that be a story to tell his fellow NC State students!
