Hill And Kollar Earn All-ACC Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Michael Hill and Chris Kollar earned All-ACC honors Saturday in the final day of competition at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships at North Carolina's Eddie Smith Fieldhouse. Hill tied for third in the high jump with a career-best 6-9 ¾ and Kollar finished third in the mile run with a time of 4:11.10.
The Wolfpack also scored in the 3,000m, men's shot put, 4x400m relay, triple jump, women's 60m and mile. Wesley Smith placed fifth in the 3,000m with a time of 8:17.07 and Mitchell Pope hit a career-best 57-3 in the shot put for seventh place today. Kollar ran a 8:27.90 for 12th and Bryce Ruiz finished in 8:31.59. NC State took sixth place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:20.14. Hill placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 48-8. Chris Crawford ended up 10th in the shot put with a mark of 50-2.
On the women's side Julia Lucas provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 3,000m with a time of 9:33.72 for fourth place. Joya Rodgers ran a career-best 7.57 in the 60m, missing third place and all-conference honors by one one-hundredth of a second, while Courtney Patterson took sixth place. Angelina Blackmon ran a 4:58.28 in the mile for seventh place, Jennifer Boyd finished eighth with a career-best 4:58.42 and Magin Kebert ran a 4:58.56 for ninth place.
Kristina Roth came in sixth place in the 3,000m with a career-best time of 9:37.51 and Renee Gunning finished ninth with a time of 9:48.61. Erin Swain and Rodgers also ran the 3,000m. Tabitha Woodard placed fifth in the pole vault with a career-best mark of 11-9 ¾. Kelly Smoke and Brie Ward competed in the shot put.
Friday saw NC State finish second in the women's distance medley relay, breaking the school record, Dexter Adams placed fourth in the long jump, Wesley Smith finished fifth in the 5,000m. Both NC State teams finished in eighth place. Miami won the women's championship and Florida State won the men's side. The Wolfpack returns to action next weekend, when it heads back to Chapel Hill for the Carolina Last Chance Meet.
