Women's Soccer Signs Six to NLI

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State women's soccer head coach Laura Kerrigan has announced the signing of six players - Ashleah Dingle (Hope Mills, N.C./South View HS/Fayetteville Force), Chantelle Dugas (Ontario, Canada/Eastdale Collegiate Vocational Institute/Dixie Dominators Club), Tami Krzeszewski (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep/Erie Admirals Club), Mallory Schmidt (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road HS/Capital Area Soccer League), Kasie Shover (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor HS/FC Delco) and Lindsay Vera (Houston, Texas/Cypress Springs HS/Texas Premier) - to national letters of intent to play for NC State beginning in the 2005 season.
"This class features players with excellent attacking and goal-scoring abilities," said NC State head coach Laura Kerrigan. "It was an area that we put emphasis on in recruiting this year." "A few goals over the course of the season, makes all the difference in the world." These players will immediately challenge for starting jobs and will add depth to our forward and midfield positions.
Dingle, a forward from Hope Mills, N.C. was named to the 2004 Two Rivers All-Conference team after guiding her squad to the conference tournament title. She is currently a member of the state of North Carolina Olympic Development (ODP) team, Region III Pool Team and Fayetteville Force.
"Ashleah is a strong and fast forward who can take players on and beat them 1v1, said Kerrigan. "But she can also score from a distance."
Dugas, a forward from Ontario, Canada, has extensive experience with the Canadian Development teams for several years, including the U-16 and U-17 teams. Additionally, she has played with the Ontario U-17 squad and also plays with the Dixie Dominators Club team.
"Chantelle dominates both in the air and on the ground," said Kerrigan. "She is both an excellent ball winner and goal scorer."
Krzeszewski, a midfielder out of Erie, Pa., is a member of the US Youth Soccer Region I ODP squad. She was also a member of the 2003 ODP Interregionals Region I team. She currently plays club with the Erie Admirals.
"Tami is a smart, fast forward or midfielder who combines well with other players to both create and finish goal-scoring opportunities," said Kerrigan.
Schmidt, is a local player from Raleigh, N.C. She is a five-year member of the US Youth Soccer Region III ODP and state of North Carolina ODP teams. Schmidt plays club soccer with the CASL Elite.
"Mallory is a quick midfielder or forward with proven finishing ability," said Kerrigan. "She will add quite a bit to our depth at forward or flank midfield."
Shover is a midfielder from Lancaster, Pa. She plays with the Mid-Atlantic Super Y League and with the US Youth Soccer Regional Pool team in Pennsylvania. Shover plays club soccer with FC Delco.
"Kasie is a tactically smart and technically adept player who will be a force in midfield or the back for us," said Kerrigan.
Vera, a forward from Houston, Texas, is a member of the US Soccer Youth Region III team. She also plays club soccer with Texas Premier.
Lindsey is a fast, dynamic forward who is very strong taking players on and finding the back of the net," said Kerrigan."
