Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2004 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Softball's Beth Poore and Baseball's Joey Cutler.
Beth Poore is a member of the NC State Women's Softball team. When not patrolling the outfield for the Wolfpack, Beth can be found putting up good numbers in the classroom. The Charlotte, North Carolina native has compiled a 3.69 Total Grade Point Average in her Civil Engineering Major. Beth was named to the NC State Dean's List during the Fall semester of 2003 and Fall and Spring semesters of 2004. She also was named to the ACC Honor Roll for the 2003-2003 year.
Joey Cutler knows how to bring the heat, both on the field and in the classroom. The Freshman from Matthews, North Carolina is a pitcher for the NC State Baseball team. Joey's best stuff can be found in the classroom, where he's compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in his Engineering major. Joey was also named to the NC State Dean's List for the Fall semester of 2004.
Congratulations to both Beth and Joey and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
Caterpillar and NC State ... partnering to make progress possible.
