NC State will finalize its three-game road trip at the 8-0 Brigham Young Cougars on Wednesday, Dec. 21. The Pack is 0-1 all-time against the Cougars, having lost in Raleigh, 68-57 back on Dec. 14, 2002. NC State went 1-1 at the Duel in the Desert, collecting a win over Arkansas State and a loss to then No. 22 Utah. Seniors Billie McDowell and Tiffany Stansbury have been solid offensively for the Wolfpack. Stansbury leads the squad with 14.5 ppg after posting double figure games in eight of 10 games. McDowell recorded a new season-high of 17 points to lead NC State over Arkansas State and has tallied double digits in five of her six games played. Sophomore Khadijah Whittington is leading the team in rebounds with 8.5 rpg after she posted a career-high 19 rebounds against Ark. State. She earned her second all-tournament team honor after she was named to the Duel in the Desert Gray Division tournament team. NC State has held its opponents to 38.5 percent from the floor and is outrebounding them by an average of 7.7 per contest.
With a record of 8-0 on the year, BYU is off to its best start in school history. The Cougars picked up an early solid win over previously ranked UCLA, 71-67 on Nov. 22 in Los Angeles. The team is led primarily by forward Ambrosia Anderson, who is averaging 21.3 ppg and 9.3 rpg. She is also averaging 42.1 percent from the three-point line and has made 16 total, which is second to the team's other leading scorer, Mallary Gillespie. Gillespie has made 17 threes, while averaging 10.8 ppg to go along with 28 total assists. BYU is not a great shooting team, having only made 43.1 percent of its shots from the floor and just 62.2 percent from the free throw line. The squad is also averaging 18.3 turnovers per game, while forcing 19.

Three players are averaging double figures, led by Sarah-Jo Lawrence, who is averaging 11.6 ppg. Kim Beck is close behind with 11.4 ppg and Jessica Simmonds is averaging 10.3 ppg. She does lead the team in rebounds with 10.3 rpg.
