ACC Offensive Back and Rookie of Week - Andre Brown
Brown ran for 179 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries in the Wolfpack's 20-15 win over then-No. 9 Florida State on Saturday. Named the Co-National Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Foundation for his performance against FSU, Brown averaged 6.9 yards per carry against the Seminoles. The true freshman from Greenville , N.C. , set the tone for the afternoon on the game's second play from scrimmage when he broke free for a 65-yard touchdown run. Brown, who also claimed ACC Offensive Back of the Week honors, earns his second straight Rookie of the Week selection. After carrying the ball just 13 times for 42 yards in the Wolfpack's first six games, Brown has carried the ball 58 times for 427 yards and three touchdowns in NC State's last two contests. He has averaged 7.4 yards per carry and 213.5 yards per game in those two Wolfpack wins.
Defensive Line(men) of the Week - Manny Lawson, NC State and FSU's Brodrick Bunkley
Lawson, a senior from Goldsboro , N.C. , helped the Wolfpack limit Florida State to 227 total offensive yards, including just 184 yards passing from the ACC's leading passing offense, in NC State's 20-15 win on Saturday. Lawson was on the field for 58 of FSU's 68 snaps from scrimmage, and had seven tackles, three of which were for losses, and one quarterback sack.
Defensive Back of the Week - A.J. Davis, NC State
Davis led the Wolfpack with nine tackles and recorded a pair of crucial interceptions at Florida State. A redshirt junior from Durham , N.C. , Davis recorded eight solo hits, notched one tackle for a two-yard loss and had one pass-breakup. Davis's first interception came late in the third quarter, with NC State hanging onto a 13-10 lead and Florida State driving at midfield. He returned the ball 43 yards to the FSU 29, setting up the Pack's final scoring drive of the game. With NC State leading 20-13, Florida State blocked its second NC State punt in as many tries, giving the Seminoles the ball at the Wolfpack five-yard line with 2:44 to play in the game. On second-and-goal from the 12 following a seven-yard loss, Davis stepped in front of an FSU pass at the goal line and returned the ball three yards to stop the potential tying drive for FSU.
