Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team is gearing up for the start of their season, now almost just a month away. Last week, the Pack held there first practice meet of the fall, and this Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. NC State will hold another practice meet in Carmichael for fans to come and watch. Assistant coach Todd Henry wrote down his thoughts about how things went in the last practice meet for the Pack.
Henry: The last inter-squad went extremely well. All the gymnasts performed at a high caliber and had a positive experience. On each event the coaching staff competed more than 6 athletes. We wanted to give every gymnast the opportunity to showcase what they could do in a pressure environment. In some cases, the routines that were done were more difficult than what we will compete in the first couple of meets. We are trying to train at a higher standard than what we will need starting out. I am happy to report that we do have more depth than last year on several events. That will help as the grid of the season rolls on. I'd like to invite everybody to come out and watch us once again this Friday afternoon .
