Karlie Urbaniak, a freshman on the NC State volleyball team, submitted answers to GoPack.com this past summer on a variety of subjects, most having nothing to do with volleyball. The outside hitter from Canton, Minn., has started 17 matches, including the first 11 for the Wolfpack. Fourth on the squad in kills, Urbaniak recorded the team's first double-double of the season with a team best 10 kills and 10 digs against Lipscomb (Sept. 9) to go with three blocks and then led the squad with 17 more kills that night against Lamar.
GoPack: If a movie were made about you, which actor would you want to play the part of you?
KU: Cameran Diaz ... she's fun
GoPack: Why did you choose to come to NC State?
KU: The coaching staff was very understanding and I liked the girls. Also, the weather is a tad bit better than Minnesota!
GoPack: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
KU: Teacher
GoPack: Nobody knows how much you like to what?
KU: Hum when I like what I am eating
GoPack: What was your most embarrassing moment on the court?
KU: When I called the female referee "sir" inadvertently
GoPack: What has been your greatest moment outside of volleyball?
KU: Academic all-state, graduation, valedictorian
GoPack: What are your pregame rituals?
KU: None really, I'm not too superstitious
GoPack: Who would you like to switch places for a day with?
KU: Angelina Jolie
GoPack: What are your favorite hobbies?
KU: Lounging around, singing, being weird
GoPack: If you had to give up all your possessions but one, what would you keep?
KU: my phone
GoPack: Who has influenced you the most in life?
KU: My dad ... he is so passionate about sports. He opened my eyes to the essence of potential - you have to top it or else it will dwindle
GoPack: If you could be on a reality TV show, which one would you choose?
KU: Real World. I love it!
GoPack: If you could be on any magazine cover, which one would you choose?
KU: Vogue or something super trendy so they would dress me all up
GoPack: What do you plan to be doing in 10 years?
KU: Holding a good job with a husband and maybe a kid or two
