Wolfpack Sports Marketing and the NC State University Women's Basketball team will be hosting Hoops for Hope on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Reynolds Coliseum on the NC State campus. The Wolfpack Women will play their final home basketball game of the season against Maryland at 1:00pm, but this basketball game will be more than a typical college women's basketball game. Hoops for Hope is a breast cancer awareness and fundraising event taking place around a regularly scheduled women's basketball game. Proceeds from game ticket sales will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, NC Triangle Affiliate. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth (17 and under). $5 of each ticket sold will go directly to the local Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Hoops for Hope is a basketball game centered around hope. Hope for early detection, hope for increased survival, hope for a cure. Why? Because this year in America, more than 211,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 43,300 will die from the disease. One in seven women either has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime - that woman could be your mother, sister, daughter, wife, dear friend, or Hall of Fame Coach. Chances are you know at least one person who has battled breast cancer.
Join NC State Women's Basketball Coach Kay Yow and her team for this one of a kind fundraising event. Breast cancer survivors will be recognized at half-time and fans will be given a FREE pink t-shirt (while supplies last) to show their support for the survivors and Coach Yow. An acclaimed artist, Todd Dawes (www.dawesart.com) will be on the sidelines painting a game day memory and at the conclusion of the game, the original work of art will be presented to Coach Yow. Hoops for Hope will also feature a commemorative game program and commemorative ticket, both designed by Todd Dawes.
Tickets will go on sale on December 1, 2005. To purchase tickets visit GoPack.com or call the ticket office at 1-800-310-PACK. For more information, Click Here.
