Wolfpack Falls 3-0 To Boston College In Season Finale

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Boston College in the final match of the season for both teams Saturday afternoon in historic Reynolds Coliseum. All five NC State seniors were honored in a pregame ceremony and were all in the starting lineup for their final collegiate match. The Wolfpack finished the season with a 7-23 overall record and a 1-21 mark in the ACC. NC State out-blocked Boston College 11-3, but the Eagles (9-22, 4-18 ACC) put away 58 kills to the Pack's 30, sweeping the match 30-27, 30-27, 30-20.
The score was tied nine times in the first game, including 26-26 before Boston College was able to pull away. Down 27-28 in the second game, NC State let the Eagles slip away with another win before Boston College ran away with game three.
Senior middle blocker Stefani Eddins led the Wolfpack with seven kills and seven blocks, while freshman outside hitter Aiwane Iboaya had a team-best .750 attacking percentage with six kills. Junior setter Melissa Rabe came off the bench to lead the team with 22 assists and sophomore libero Andrea Bentley provided a team high 14 digs.
Kelsey Johson led Boston College with 19 kills, Verena Rost had 30 assists and Allison Anderson posted 30 digs. The Eagles split the series with NC State 1-1 in the second-ever meeting between the two schools and finished ahead of the last place Wolfpack in the ACC standings.
