RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State freshman Lindsay Vera was named to the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshmen team as announced by the ACC on Tuesday, Nov. 1. The forward becomes the second Wolfpack player to earn such a distinction. Katherine Warman was selected in 2000. Vera, a Houston, Texas native, posted five goals and three assists for 13 points to lead NC State this season.
Lindsay Vera was tied for the team lead in goals with five on the year, but she led in conference matches only with three total. She also had one assist to bring her point total to seven in ACC games. She started all 16 of her matches played and missed two games due to a sidelining injury. In that time she also posted a team-best 19 shots on goal and had one game-winning score. Perhaps her best match of the season came in the Pack's 4-2 win over Virginia Tech. In that game, Vera netted two goals to earn her first multiple-goal game of her career.
