Women's Tennis Ends Fall Slate at USC Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The NC State women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season on Sunday, Oct. 30, on the final day of competition at the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational in Columbia, S.C. Three championship matches featured NC State playing for titles to end the tournament. With fall competition finished, the Wolfpack will now begin preparing for the fast-approaching spring season.
In the A1 doubles final, senior Barbara Orlay and sophomore Julia Roach fell to South Carolina's Walsh and Blakely, 9-7, in a highly charged matched. Freshman Alejandra Guerra fell to South Carolina's Schofield, 6-3, 6-0, in the Flight A1 title bout, while junior Agustina Arechavaleta lost to Coastal Carolina's Rudman, 6-1, 6-0, in the Flight C1 championship match.
Head coach Hans Olsen and the women's tennis team will resume team and individual practices for the remainder of the fall in preparation for a busy and challenging spring schedule. Until spring play begins, stay up to date with the women's tennis team on GoPack.com.
