Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2005 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor track and field's Laura Strother and wrestling's Ty Roach.

It's tough to keep up with Laura Strother. The junior from Matthews, North Carolina is a standout runner for the NC State Women's track team and quite a performer in the classroom. The Biological Sciences major has compiled a 3.96 Total Grade Point Average. Laura has also been named to the NC State Dean's List all four semesters she's been on campus and was on the ACC Honor Roll for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 academic years.

Ty Roach knows what it takes to make the grade, both in his sport of wrestling and in the classroom. The former state champion from Morehead City, North Carolina has compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in his Biological Sciences major. The sophomore standout made the NC State Dean's List during the fall semester of 2004 and spring semester of 2005, and was also on the ACC Honor Roll for the 2004-2005 academic year.
Congratulations to both Laura and Ty and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
Caterpillar and NC State ... partnering to make progress possible.
