Durham, N.C. - The 11th-ranked NC State men's soccer team fell to No. 10 Duke Friday night by a score of 6-0 in Durham, N.C. The Blue Devils (9-3-1, 3-2-1 ACC) scored five first-half goals, including two in the first eight minutes, and the Pack (9-5-1, 3-3-1 ACC) was never able to recover and lost their second straight ACC road contest.
Duke jumped on the scoreboard first with a Blake Camp goal 7:20 into the contest. The Blue Devils would add another goal less than a minute later, as Danny Kramer netted his first goal of the game at the 8:09 mark. A Chris Loftus penalty kick at 13:16 made the score 3-0. Kramer would add a second goal at 20:32, and Pavelid Castaneda notched Duke's fifth goal at 34:13. Overall, the Blue Devils out shot the Pack 12-8 in the half.
Duke would score the lone goal of the second half, as Michael Videira scored in the 64th minute.
The six-goal deficit was the biggest for NC State since a loss at UNC Greensboro in 2000 (6-0), a span of 94 games.
NC State will have over a week off, as the Pack does not return to action until next weekend. No. 17 Wake Forest comes to Method Road for NC State's Senior Day, on Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m.
