Off The Court With Aiwane Iboaya

Aiwane Iboaya, a freshman on the NC State volleyball team, submitted answers to GoPack.com this past summer on a variety of subjects, most having nothing to do with volleyball. The outside hitter from St. Joseph, Mo., is third on the team with 100 kills this season. She has played in every match, started six and has played in all but six games. Pronounced ah-juan-knee ah-boy-ya, Iboaya posted a career high 14 kills and 34 attempts with a .206 attack percentage against Clemson, Oct. 14.
GoPack: Why did you choose to come to NC State?
AI: The school is in the top 100 schools in the nation academically and even though I am very far from my family and friends, my brother is close by and the school is very diverse
GoPack: When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?
AI: Doctor
GoPack: Nobody knows how much you like to what?
AI: Listen to classical music, especially the violin
GoPack: What was your most embarrassing moment on the court?
AI: Playing in a high school tournament on the main court that everyone sees when they walk in, I jumped to hit a ball and completely missed it
GoPack: What is your greatest moment outside of volleyball?
AI: Whenever I spend time with my family it is always fun and magical
GoPack: Who would you like to switch places for a day with?
AI: A celebrity so I could felt he pressures so whenever they complain about the lack of privacy I would be able to understand and relate
GoPack: What are your favorite hobbies?
AI: Reading, writing, sports and dancing
GoPack: If you had to give up all your possessions but one, what would you keep?
AI: My cell phone because without it I wouldn't be able to keep in close contact with everyone back home
GoPack: Who has influenced you the most in your life?
AI: My mother because she has instilled so many morals and values in me and has been my mother and father for most of my life
GoPack: What is your favorite TV show?
AI: I love anime but my absolute favorite is Naruto
GoPack: What is your favorite food?
AI: Tai food, I love it!
