Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2005 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor volleyball's Kelly Higgins and wrestling's Jay Coman.

Kelly Higgins knows how to go for the kill. But that's a good thing when you play the sports she does. Kelly is a key veteran on the NC State Women's Volleyball team. She's also a standout scholar athlete. The junior from Wilmington, North Carolina has compiled a 3.91 Total Grade Point Average in her Textiles major. Kelly was named to the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2004 and spring of 2005. She also earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll for the 2004-2005 academic year.

Jay Coman is always on the attack, whether it's in his sport of wrestling or when it comes to hitting the books. The sophomore from Durham, North Carolina has compiled a 3.97 Total Grade Point Average in his History major. Jay was also named to the NC State Dean's List for the fall semester of 2004 and spring semester of 2005. He also made the ACC Honor Roll for the 2004-2005 academic year.
Congratulations to both Kelly and Jay and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
