Raleigh, N.C. - This was a tough update to write. Anytime you write about a positive situation, it is very effortless. When things go south, it is difficult to face the music! After much thought and contemplating, I realized that the meet against Denver was a positive experience. No, really I mean it!
I understand that this is an easy thing to say but it is a very true statement. NC State really struggled in this meet. It just seems that we were off from the beginning and never fully recovered. We counted several falls and the routines that we did hit, were rough. However, Coach Stevenson had a very effective talk with the group after the meet. Our workout on Monday was the best all year. We are a solid team and will prove that point down the line.
We are right back in the gym preparing for our next meet. That is one of the best things about gymnastics, with a meet every weekend there are plenty of chances to get better scores. We host both James Madison and William & Mary this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. The team hopes a large crowd turns out, because the girls really feed off of the good home crowds we have here at Reynolds for NC State gymnastics meets.
