Raleigh, N.C. - Senior Cori Goldstein (Plainview, N.J.) of the North Carolina State gymnastics team has been named as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week for her performance in the Pack's season opening win over Rutgers. The award is given to a gymnast who competes and excels in fewer than three events in a meet.
Goldstein led the Wolfpack with two first place finishes in an impressive win over conference foe Rutgers. The Wolfpack senior scored a 9.725 on beam and a 9.85 on floor for her two titles. She also added a 9.625 on vault for a fourth place showing. It is Goldstein's third career Specialist of the Week honor after earning two awards in 2003.
NC State will hit the road for the first time this weekend, competing at No. 14 Denver. The Pack returns to home action, Saturday, January 29, when NC State hosts James Madison and William & Mary at 7:00 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.
