NC State Volleyball Faces East Carolina Tuesday

Fresh off a first place finish at the seventh annual Lehigh Mountain Hawk Classic, the NC State volleyball team will host to in-state rival East Carolina Tuesday night at Reynolds Coliseum. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Wolfpack (7-1) is off to its best start since 1995 and has won five straight matches. Over the weekend, NC State defeated the likes of Marist, Columbia and Lehigh, while three of its players were named to the all-tournament team. Junior middle blocker Adeola Kosoko and freshman setter Lauren Markowski were both selected as all-tournament honorees, while junior middle blocker Stefani Eddins was named the tournament's most valuable player.
On the season, Kosoko is third in kills with 90 off a .339 attack percentage to go with 24 digs and 39 total blocks. Meanwhile, Markowski has already tallied 309 assists for an average of 11.04 assists a game, and Eddins has quickly earned the respect from opponent's attackers with her team-best 44 total blocks defensively. Also stepping up for the Wolfpack are senior outside hitter Melanie Rowe and freshman outside hitter Emily Bertrand, who lead the team in kills with 101 and 96 respectively.
As a team, NC State comes into Tuesday's match featuring a .267 attack percentage in comparison to the .126 percentage by its opponents. More impressive is the play of the Pack's defense, which sports a 93-27 advantage in total team blocks thus far.
The Pirates sail into Raleigh with a 5-4 record after going 1-2 over the weekend in tournament play. Leading ECU offensively is junior outside hitter Erica Wilson and junior middle blocker Paige Howell, who feature 101 and 99 kills respectively, while also combining for 43 total blocks on the year. Sophomore middle blocker Jamie Bevan has also been a threat for the Pirates after racking up 97 kills, 21 digs and 35 total blocks, a team-best. As a team, East Carolina currently has a .205 attack percentage to go along with 75.5 total team blocks.
