Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2003 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor softball's Heather Gelbard and tennis' Conor Taylor.
Heather Gelbard |
Heather Gelbard is a member of the NC State women's softball team. The sophomore to be came to State from Miami, Florida. The First Year College major has been hitting them out of the park when it comes to academics. Heather's compiled a most impressive 3.949 Total Grade Point Average. Her other accomplishments include being named to the NC State Dean's List during the recent spring semester.
Conor Taylor |
Conor Taylor came to Raleigh to play tennis for NC State all the way from his native Dublin, Ireland. Since then he's put up aces in the classroom as well as on the court. Conor's compiled a 3.333 Total Grade Point Average in his Multidicipinary Studies Major. He will be a master's student at State next fall.
Congratulations to both Heather and Conor and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
