Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2003 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor swimming's Allison Marks and basketball's Engin Atsur.
Allison Marks |
Allison Marks has been right on the mark during her career at NC State. The junior from Valrico, Florida is a valuable member of the NC State Women's Swimming team. Allison's greatest accomplishments have come in the classroom, where she has compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point average in her Biomedical Engineering major. If that's not enough, Allison's been on the NC State Dean's List all five semesters she's been on campus, and was also named to the ACC Honor Roll during the 2002-2003 academic year.
Engin Atsur |
Engin Atsur didn't take long to make a name for himself on the basketball court. The freshman from Istanbul, Turkey was an instant contributor for Herb Sendek's crew. Engin also posted great numbers in the classroom, compiling a 3.71 Total Grade Point Average. He majors in Business Management.
Congratulations to both Allison and Engin and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
Caterpillar and NC State ... partnering to make progress possible.
