Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - Hey this is Bri Vega. I am a senior Psychology major from North Andover, MA.
It was another beautiful day here at Howey in the Hills, FL. Today our tee times started at 8am, so we were up bright and early this morning! It was so early when we woke up, the sun wasn't even up yet! We met at 6:30am and ate breakfast together as a team. It was nice to play earlier because it wasn't as hot as yesterday. We usually go to the course an hour before the first tee time. We warmed up by hitting balls, chipping, and putting. We also prepared mentally for our rounds.
We are currently in 16th place, and we shot 318 today. After the round we got in a good practice session. We all worked on our putting and distance control. We are hitting a lot of really good shots out there; we just need some putts to start falling! When we were done practicing we had some extra time to spend at the pool or watch our fellow competitors play from our hotel porch. The pool and our hotel rooms overlook the golf course. We can see the 9th hole, 8th green and 5th tee. You can see a lot of good golf just hanging out on the porch.
This evening we all went and ate with our parents that came to watch us. It is nice to have our family here to cheer us on! Tonight we have to pack up and be ready to go for the morning. We tee off at 12:30 tomorrow and we are playing with South Carolina and UNCW. We are meeting as a team to eat breakfast around 9:45am; we don't have to get up as early as today. Tonight we are going to go over all the things we know we can improve on for tomorrow.
You can watch us tear up the course tomorrow on golfstat.com!!!
Tomorrow, Ashlee Dean (HOVA), will be wrapping up our final diary entry!!
GO PACK!
