Wolfpack blitz is an annual event that the NC State Student-Athlete Development/Community Relations department created seven years ago that enables NC State student-athletes to visit local elementary schools in a designated week during the spring semester. This year a large group of NC State student-athletes from a variety of Wolfpack teams visited at least 20 schools last week.
The NC State student-athletes speak on various topics that include the importance of academics, being a good person, sportsmanship, and different Wake county school district character education traits. It is only elementary school students and the size of the groups have ranged from 25 to 750. The NC State Student-Athlete Development/Community Relations department believes that student-athletes are role models to younger kids and that it is important that kids see NC State's student-athletes are good students as well as good athletes.
