
Pomeranz And Vega Shoot Even Par At ACC Championship

CLEMMONS, N.C. - Courtney Pomeranz and Briana Vega led the NC State charge Saturday in the second round of the ACC Women's Golf Championship at the par-71, 6,348-yard Salem Glen Country Club. Both improved six strokes from the first round to shoot even par scores and are now tied for 12th place. The Wolfpack shaved 10 strokes off its team score, but remains in fifth place of seven teams heading into the final round at 28-over.
Pomeranz and Vega birdied three holes each and are six-over for the tournament. Colby Cobb is one stroke behind them at seven-over and is tied for 15th. Ashlee Dean impoved three strokes from Friday to Saturday and is tied for 23rd at 11-over. Lorraine Ballerano fired a second round 80 and is now 14-over and in 28th place.
Duke leads the tournament at three-under and North Carolina's Meaghan Francella is the individual leader at seven-under. The tournament concludes Sunday with a final round of 18 holes.
