
No. 75 Wolfpack Narrowly Falls to No. 43 Yellow Jackets

Atlanta, Ga. - After losing a tough match to No. 12 Clemson on Saturday, No. 75 NC State responded in women's tennis with a gritty performance, almost upsetting No. 43 Georgia Tech (7-3, 2-0). The Wolfpack fell to (4-4, 0-2) with the 4-3 loss, as Jennifer Jassawalla of NC State and Sekita Grant of Georgia Tech played the decisive match to break a 3-3 tie. After Grant won the first set easily, 6-1, Jassawalla responded, winning 6-4. Jassawalla couldn't close it out, as Grant won by a single break, 6-4 to pull out the win for the Yellow Jackets.
The Wolfpack lost the doubles point after winning 8-6 at No. 3 and falling 8-2 at No. 1. The doubles contest between Lam/Apodaca of NC State and Shosho/Nieto went down to the wire, as the Yellow Jacket duo prevailed 8-6 at No. 2.
In singles, Barbara Orlay won at No. 1 singles in a three set battle, while Nandita Chandrasekar won again at No. 3 singles in three sets as well. Freshman Agustina Arechevaleta prevailed at No. 6 in three sets to garner the third point for NC State.
