
Women's Golf 12th of 17 After First Round

BATON ROUGE, La. - The NC State women's golf team is in 12th place out of 17 teams after the first round of the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic at the par 72, 6,265-yard University Golf Club in Baton Rouge, La., Friday. The Wolfpack shot a 40-over par 328 on the first 18 holes.
Molly Birmingham and Briana Vega led the team with matching nine-over par scores of 81 in the first round to tie for 48th place overall. Margaux Hennessey, Colby Cobb and Ashlee Dean all fired 11-over scores of 83 to tie for 65th place.
The tournament includes three top-25 teams and eight squads ranked in the top 50, including No. 46 NC State.
Alabama is in first place after the first round with an 11-over score of 299 and Amelie Farrah from UNC Wilmington shot one under to lead individually. Second round action continues Saturday and concludes Sunday. Complete results and live scoring are available at www.golfstat.com.
