Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Fall 2003 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor cross country's Megan Coombs and football's Chris Dirito.
Megan Coombs spend the past four years running on the NC State Women's Cross Country team. Since coming to Raleigh from her native Jewett City, Connecticut, Megan has excelled in the classroom. This senior scholar-athlete, who majors in Education, has compiled a 3.63 Total Grade Point Average.
Chris Dirito is a redshirt freshman on the NC State football team. The native of Durham, North Carolina handles both punting and kicking chores for the Wolfpack. The Mechanical Engineering major carries a 3.79 Total Grade Point Average. Chris also was named to the NC State Dean's List during the fall semester of 2003.
Congratulations to both Megan and Chris and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
