
Ballerano Tied For 24th At Lady Gamecock Classic

BLYETHEWOOD, S.C. - Lorraine Ballerano is tied for 24th place at the Lady Gamecock Classic at the par-72, 5,996-yard University Golf Club. The sophomore from Myrtle Beach, S.C., shaved a stroke off her first round score to card a six-over par 78 in the second round Saturday. She leads the team, which slipped to 11th place after two rounds in a very strong field of 11 teams. No. 51 NC State is the only squad in the event not ranked in the top 50 and six of the teams are in the top 25. The Wolfpack shot a 39-over score of 327 on the second 18 holes and are now 71 over for the tournament.
Briana Vega matched her first round score of 81 and is tied for 38th place at 18 over, while Molly Birmingham fired an 81 and is tied for 40th at 19 over. Colby Cobb shot an 87 and is 23 over and tied for 52nd. Ashlee Dean matched her first round score of 85 and is in 61st place at 26 over par.
North Carolina scored a 302 in the second round and is in first place 29-over par score in the first round and Ashley Prange from North Carolina is the individual leader with a one-over score after two days.
