NC State Baseball At No. 24 In Latest BA Poll

RALEIGH, N.C. - The last idle week before the 2004 season opens results in the NC State baseball team moving up one spot in the latest national polls, to No. 24 in Baseball America and No. 28 in Collegiate Baseball. The Wolfpack opens the '04 season on Friday at Campbell, which was swept in a three-game series this past weekend at Texas Tech.
The Wolfpack held its position at No. 25 in the USA Today Sports Weekly coaches poll.
NC State was the fourth of five Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in the Baseball America poll. Georgia Tech was at No. 5, followed by No. 11 Clemson, No. 17 North Carolina, NC State, and No. 25 Florida State. The Sminoles dropped from No. 22 after being swept over the weekend at No. 16 Arizona State.
In the Collegiate Baseball poll, Georgia Tech was fourth, followed by Clemson at No. 17, North Carolina at No. 21, Florida State at No. 24, and the Wolfpack at No. 28.
