NC State women's basketball player Kaayla Chones took some time out of her busy schedule last Thursday to talk to a second grade class at Bugg Elementary School in Raleigh.
Chones, a senior center from Pepper Pike, Ohio, leads the team in both scoring and rebounding and ranks fourth and third in the ACC respectively with 15.0 points-per-game and 8.6 rebounds-per-game. A two-time all-conference selection, Chones is an All-America candidate. She has the 16-11 (8-6 ACC) Wolfpack ranked third in the ACC and on a six-game win streak going into Thursday's game at Georgia Tech.
As part of NC State's Office of Student-Athlete Development, the ImPACK Program is a great success story in the realm of student-athlete services. ImPACK gives Wolfpack student-athletes the opportunity to develop skills that will enhance opportunities for success after their athletic careers have ended. In the process, the program provides an outlet for the student-athletes to contribute to the community.
