Gymnastics' Katz Named EAGL Specialist of the Week

Raleigh, N.C. - Freshman Rachel Katz (Bloomington, Ind.) of the North Carolina State gymnastics team has been honored as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week, it has been announced by EAGL officials.
Competing in three events at NC State's Hearts Invitational, Katz earned the first two 9.90 scores of her college career. She earned her first career title on vault when she tied for first place with a 9.90 score. On the floor exercise, her 9.90 score earned her a tie for sixth place. She also tied for seventh on bars with a 9.825 score.
Katz helped the Wolfpack finish second in a strong four-team field at the Hearts Invitational. NC State posted a seasonal high 195.925 team score in the meet.
