Gymnastics Finally Returns Home

Raleigh, N.C. - After five straight meets on the road, the NC State gymnastics team will return to home action this Friday night when the Wolfpack plays host to the annual Hearts Invitational. The meet will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum, and feature the Wolfpack, No. 23 North Carolina, James Madison and William & Mary.
NC State started its season back on January 9 with its home opener, and the Wolfpack defeated both Brown and William & Mary that day. After the one home meet, the Pack packed up and competed in five road meets in the span of four weekends. The stiff road tests featured meets at nationally ranked West Virginia, Florida and Iowa, and was capped off last weekend at the Governor's Cup at Towson.
The Wolfpack (6-7) notched its highest score of the season last week at the Governor's Cup with a 195.225. NC State posted season-high scores on both bars (48.850) and on floor (49.050), and also scored very high on vault with a team score of 48.975.

Kylah Bachman (So.) - Competed in the all-around in the first four meets of the season, and has competed on vault, bars and beam in each of the last two meets ...Scored a career-high 9.875 on vault last weekend at the Governor's Cup, and has three scores on vault of 9.8 or better ...Has topped 39.000 twice in her four meets in the all-around, with a career-best 39.125 coming at Pittsburgh.
Alison Bundy (Sr.) - Competed on floor in every meet this year, and the first three meets on beam ...Has scored a 9.75 on floor in three separate meets.
Cori Goldstein (Jr.) - Competed on both beam and floor in every meet this season ... Has scored a 9.85 on floor in four of the last five meets, finishing in the top-five every time ... Also has two scores of 9.8 on beam this year.
Amanda Jones (Fr.) - Missed time early this year with a back injury, but has been in the Pack's vault, beam and floor line-ups in the last two meets ...Had season-best scores of 9.65 on vault and 9.75 on floor at last week's Governor's Cup.
Rachel Katz (Fr). - Freshman has seen action on vault and bars every meet this year ...Has scored at least a 9.825 on vault in each of the five away meets ...Has finished in the top-five on vault in every meet ...Career-high of 9.875 coming both at Pittsburgh and at Iowa ...Scored a 9.8 on bars at West Virginia.
Kelley Kello (Jr.) - Once again in the Pack's bars, beam and floor line-ups ... Scored at least a 9.8 on bars in back-to-back meets ...Posted season-highs of 9.8 on floor in first three meets of the season.
Marlyn Madey (Sr.) - Pack's fifth-year senior has competed on bars and floor in every meet ... Scored a season-best 9.825 on floor last week at the Governor's Cup ... Top score on bars was 9.8 at West Virginia.
Molly Pennington (Sr.) - One of the Pack's top vaulters all season ... Started the season winning vault the first two meets ... Scored a 9.925 at Pittsburgh ... Scored at least 9.8 in two of the past three meets.
Andrea Petrocelli (Jr.) - Has made successful return to bars and beam line-up after missing almost entire year last year with knee injury ... Won beam the first two meets of the season, and scored a 9.825 on beam in the first four meets ... Notched season-high 9.875 on beam for second place last week at Governor's Cup ... Top score on bars was 9.725 at West Virginia.
Cheryl Potacco (Sr.) - Has competed on vault in every away meet, and on bars in the first three meets this year ... Scored a season-best 9.8 on vault twice, including last week at the Governor's Cup.
Leah Sabo (Sr.) - Has competed in the all-around in every meet this season ...Top score was a 39.225 for second place at Iowa ... Won floor with a 9.925 at Pittsburgh, and has scored a 9.85 in two straight meets ...Also scored at least a 9.825 on bars in two straight meets.
