Men's Swimming Falls to Georgia Tech, 140-97

Wolfpack men's swimming fell to Georgia Tech on Friday night, Nov. 5, by a score of 140-97 to fall to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets (3-3, 3-1) are a solid third in the ACC after defeating NC State. The Wolfpack won five events in the loss, including a sweep of the sprint freestyle events. Rob Yeager and Steve Cowling won events for NC State, and the 400 medley relay team took the top spot as well.
Kevin Velleca, Rick Scott, Lyle Babcock and Scott Dettloff won the 400 medley relay by a time of 3:26.05.
Jones won the 50 freestyle with a sub 21-second time, his third time in that range this season. His 20.90 was his second fastest this season, with his 20.60 pace against Virgina Tech on Oct. 15 marking the second fastest time in the conference. He swam a season best 45.90 in the 100 free, the ACC's second fastest time in the event.
Yeager won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:06.44, while Cowling won the 200 back with a 1:52.26, the seventh fastest in the conference.
