Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2004 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Tennis's Augustina Arechavaleta and Stephen Furst.
Augustina Arechavaleta is a sophomore on the NC State Women's Tennis team. She came to NC State all the way from her native Montevideo, Uruguay. Agustina has served up plenty of aces in the classroom. She's compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in her Business major. She was also named to the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2003 and spring of 2004, and was a member of the ACC Honor Roll during the 2003-2004 year.
Stephen Furst is a member of the NC State Men's Track team. He goes the distance, both on the track and in the classroom. Stephen has compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in his Aerospace Engineering Major. The sophomore from Goshen, New York was also on the NC State Dean's List during the fall of 2003 and spring of 2004, and was a member of the ACC Honor Roll during the 2003-2004 year.
Congratulations to both Augustina and Stephen and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
