Babb and Huber Named Caterpillar Scholar Athletes

Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2004 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Track's Carla Babb and John Huber.
Carla Babb knows how to set the pace, but as a member of the NC State Women's Track team and as a student-athlete. The native of Lillington, North Carolina has compiled a 4.0 Total Grade Point Average. The junior Communications major also spent last summer studying in the United Kingdom. Carla has been named to the Dean's List every semester she has attended NC State.
John Huber is a distance runner on the NC State Men's Track team. The senior from North Tonawanda, New York has also excelled in the classroom. He's compiled a 3.34 Total Grade Point Average in his Communications major. John's other honors include being named to the NC State Dean's List five semesters he's been on campus, and making the ACC Honor Roll every year he's attended NC State.
Congratulations to both Carla and John and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
