
Women's Golf Improves 10 Strokes In Second Round

DESTIN, Fla. - The NC State women's golf team improved 10 strokes in the second round of the Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge Saturday, carding a 14-over-par score at the par 71, 5,937-yard Raven Course at the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort. The Wolfpack is in 12th place among 16 teams heading into the final round.
Nancy Mountcastle and Ashlee Dean led NC State in the second round, firing two-over. Mountcastle leads the team at five-over and is tied for 16th place. Dean is one stroke behdind her and tied for 22nd.
Colby Cobb is 14-over and Molly Birmingham is 16-over. Birmingham improved four strokes from her first round score and Lorraine Ballerano shaved nine strokes in the second round.
Auburn leads the field at five-under and the Tigers' Diana Ramage is in first place with an eight-under total. The tournament concludes Sunday with a final 18 holes. Complete results from the ACC/SEC Challenge are available at www.seminoles.com.
