Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2004 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor Cross Country's Karen Medlin and Wrestling's Zach Garren.
Karen Medlin is a Senior on the NC State Women's cross country team. The Raleigh, North Carolina native posts great times on the course and high marks in the classroom. Karen has compiled a 3.59 Total Grade Point Average in her History Education major. She's also been named to the ACC Honor Roll for three straight years and has been on the NC State Dean's List for five semesters while on campus.
Zach Garren came to NC State from Gibbstown, New Jersey. The move has paid off for the Sophomore. Zach is a standout on the NC State wrestling team. He's also scored in the classroom with a 3.27 Total Grade Point Average in his Parks Recreation and Tourism major. Zach was named to the ACC Honor roll during the 2003-04 year and also made the NC State Dean's List in the Spring of 2004.
Congratulations to both Karen and Zach and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
