Raleigh, N.C. - The kids have returned from a well-deserved fall break this week. All of the gymnast were looking forward to getting home but I have to say that our freshmen REALLY were excited! Some were home sick; some were really sleeeeepy and just wanted to rest! It is a difficult transition into the college ranks. People underestimate the workload in school and the gym.
Everyone is now in great spirits and look fresh. I'm sure that all are ready to get back and hit the books and rise and shine for early morning strength! The team is putting routines together along with cutting music for their floor routines. We are going to try something different at NC State this year, up to three intersquads (depending on how the kids perform), before the season gets underway. Judges, audience and a march out, the whole setup. Our head coach Mark Stevenson and I have discussed at length ways to better prepare our athletes for the coming season. As a staff, we feel that the kids will perform better earlier with some mock meet situations.
Remember: The strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of wolf is the pack!
Until next time - Go Pack!
