Pack J.V. Finishes Third at Sea Trail Intercollegiate

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - Courtney Pomeranz and Colby Cobb finished in the top 10 at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate to lead the Wolfpack J.V squad to a third place finish on Sunday. Leslie Stubblefield, competing as an individual, also finished near the top of the pack. The team put together a two-round total of 634 on the William Byrd Course.
Western Carolina took the team honors with a 610, and boasted the top two finishers in the tournament. Brandy Anderson finished with a final score of 148, and teammate Bianca Melone finished one stroke back.
Pomeranz was consistent both days of the tournament, firing rounds of 78 and 79 to finish tied for sixth overall. Cobb tied for eighth with a 156 after two rounds, as did Stubblefield.
Sarah Davis moved into the top 20 on Sunday after a round of 78, giving her a 159 for the tournament. Individual competitor Sarah Bonner also finished with a 159 and a share of 17th.
Nancy Mountcastle was the fourth scorer for the Pack, turning in an 82 on Sunday to finish tied for 42nd. Margaux Hennessey tied for 57th.
The Pack's varsity squad will compete in the Franklin Street Partners Invitational beginning next Friday. The J.V. squad will compete in the Campbell Invitational October 17 and 18.
