Men's Soccer Falls to Temple 1-0

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's soccer fell to Temple 1-0 Wednesday afternoon at the SAS Soccer Stadium in Cary, N.C. The Owls (4-1) scored the game's lone goal in the 84th minute, and shutout the Wolfpack (2-4) the rest of the way. Temple's Ryan Heins dribbled down the right side of the field and found an open Anthony Donatelli in the NC State box. Donatelli chested the ball down and netted the game's lone goal at the 83:26 mark.
The Wolfpack had two strong scoring chances in the second half. Senior Hiroki Kawase launched a shot and the Temple goal only to have Patrick Hannigan make a diving save, and sophomore Federico Peria failed to connect on a two-on-one break when his shot just sailed over the goalpost.
Temple's Patrick Hannigan recorded the shutout in goal by totaling eight saves, and NC State's Jorge Gonzalez finished the game with four. NC State outshot Temple 14-11.
NC State will return to action this Sunday and host ACC foe Clemson at 2:00 p.m. at Method Road.
