Sept. 16, 2003
The NC State softball team will volunteer at the 2003 North Carolina Senior Games Wednesday, September 17th and Thursday, September 18th from 1 to 5 p.m. Coach Lisa Navas' team will interact with players and fans as well as help out as volunteers at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex. NC State's student-athlete development and community out-reach department helped to organize the event.
The team will volunteer by assisting in score keeping and officiating, and in relieving the other volunteers in other duties. Players from the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, made famous by the 1992 movie "A League Of Their Own", will be among the participants on six to eight women's teams during the NC Senior Games.
