Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2003 semester 210 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 107 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor track's Allison Weavil and football's Chris Dirito.
Allison Weavil spent her freshman year soaring to new heights in the pole vault on the NC State Women's track team, and putting up high marks in the classroom. The sophomore from Morganton, NC compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in Aerospace Engineering. Allison also made the Dean's list each semester and was also named to the ACC Honor Roll.
Chris Dirito is a redshirt freshman on the NC State football team where he handles both punting and placekicking chores. The native of Durham, NC carries a 3.8 Total Grade Point Average in Engineering. Chris has also made the NC State Dean's list twice and was also named to the ACC Honor Roll.
Congratulations to both Allison and Chris and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
Caterpillar and NC State ... partnering to make progress possible.
