Residence Inn North/Wolfpack Invitation Field Announced

RALEIGH, N.C. - Eleven area schools, plus Syracuse, will join NC State in its annual fall women's tennis tournament, the Residence Inn North/Wolfpack Invitational. The event will be held on the outdoor courts at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Complex, located on NC State's West Campus. Action is slated to begin October 3-5, with singles matches beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday. This will be the first year the event has been sponsored by the Residence Inn North.
The complete field includes: Appalachian State, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, East Carolina, Elon, Hampton(Va.), High Point, NC State, Syracuse, UNC Wilmington and Wofford.
Present formatting plans for the tournament will include three flights of singles competition, as well as two flights of doubles.
"Each year we embrace the opportunity to host a tournament," says third-year Wolfpack coach Hans Olsen. "An event like this gives our team a chance to focus on our goals as a team, and individually given the nature of the tournament."
The Wolfack will open its fall schedule with the U. of Tennessee Tournament in Knoxville, Tennesse September 19-21.
