Eleven home matches including the NC State Fall Invitational and eight tournaments overall, as well as a schedule filled with nationally-ranked opponents, highlights the 2003-04 schedule coach Hans Olsen has put together for the Wolfpack women's tennis team. In his third year, Olsen is looking forward to great things from his squad.
"We are excited about a new year, and the new opportunities that we will have this season," says Olsen. "We have put together a schedule that will be challenging. We have a number of matches at home this season as well, and hope to create a great home court advantage at the new J.W. Isenhour Tennis Complex."
The outdoor courts will be ready for play in October when the Wolfpack hosts its annual Fall Invitational. The indoor facility will be completed in late November.
The squad's fall schedule includes seven other tournaments, including a trip to Palisades, Calif. for the All-American Championships. The Wolfpack also hopes to advance in the National and Team Indoors Championships.
The spring schedule is loaded with talented competition, which includes matches with eight teams that were ranked in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll. The team will play four conference matches at home this season, and also face off against future ACC opponent Virginia Tech in Raleigh.
