- 18 Wolfpack players made their collegiate debut: Leroy Harris, Mario Williams, DeMarcus "Tank" Tyler, Larmart Barrett, A.J. Davis, Tramain Hall, Maurice Charles, John Deraney, Stephen Tulluch, John McCargo, Pat Lowery, Ernest Jones, Garland Heath, Chris Hawkins, Fred Span, Casey Dimeo, Padowithz Alce and James Martin - Philip Rivers, in only two and a half quarters of action, was 26-30 for 320 yards, moving into fourth place in the ACC record books with 9,413 career passing yards - Rivers only needs 48 passing yards to tie the school record and move into third place in the ACC records - Rivers moves to fifth in the ACC records with 9,293 yards of career total offense and is three yards shy of fourth place - Rivers moves to third in the ACC records with 1,257 career pass attempts - Rivers has thrown for over 100 yards in all 39 games of his career and has thrown over 200 yards in 29 games - Rivers has thrown for over 300 yards in 10 games of his career, which ties for third in the ACC (11 games counting the Dec. 28, 2000, Micron PC Bowl against Minnesota) - Rivers' .867 passing percentage (26-30) is a career best and is the best NC State individual performance since Terry Jordan was .920 (23-25) against North Carolina on Sept. 26, 1992 - Rivers is 92-144 (.639) for 1,236 yards (309 yards-per-game) in season openers (4) with 12 TDs and only one interception - Every play in the first drive went to redshirt-sophomore Tramain Hall, who made his long-awaited collegiate debut - Hall and Brian Clark caught their first career touchdowns - Hall's punt return for a touchdown is the Wolfpack's first since Koren Robinson took one back against Wake Forest Nov. 25, 2000 - Cotra Jackson scored his first touchdown since the Nov. 18, 2000, Virginia game with a three-yard carry in the second quarter and then had a two-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter - NC State's 33 first downs is the most by the Pack since 28 against UMass on Sept. 28, 2002, and just two shy of the 20-year-old school record - With two rushing TDs tonight, TA McLendon moves into a tie for seventh place in the school records with 20 career rushing touchdowns - With one touchdown reception, Jerricho Cotchery moves into a tie for seventh place in the school records with 12 career touchdown receptions - NC State improves to 1-0 on the season - 496-481-55 all time (since 1892) - 80-27-4 in season openers - 62-10-3 in home openers - 116-103-6 vs. non-conference opponents - 4-0 in season openers under Amato - 5-0 vs. Western Carolina - 16-9 vs. Southern Conference opponents - 27-12 in the Chuck Amato era
